Typewriter Tins

'Typewriter Tins' is based on a delightful series of American typewriter tins I discovered, these fetching colourful tins, somewhat more exuberant than their slightly more staid English counterparts. I so admire the effort that went into the original surface design; the lettering, the colours, all for these tiny everyday items that somehow manage to contain the glamour of the era. The original of this print was in gouache paint, a medium I enjoy using for the Typography series as it lends it's unique qualities to lettering and a density to the colour.
