• Image of Blickling Lodge Farm Teapot (or Aunt Daphne's Teapot)

'Blickling Lodge Farm' is taken from an original acrylic painting. My partner’s Great Aunt Daphne and Great Uncle Tom were based at his family's much loved Blickling Lodge Farm. Eventually after they both passed away, the farm was disassembled and amidst the sadness and muddle my partner found their much cherished teapot. To our joy it had been used to keep some of the Farms correspondence from the early 60’s.

I felt quite instinctively that I needed to paint both the teapot and it's contents.
I wanted every crease and fold and smudge to feel human. It was important to me that my painting evoked a slower and more considered time where a beloved teapot wasn't thrown away when it was damaged but where it was repaired, loved and held on to containing this glimpse of the past.
